Rodie. Does anyone else have one of these inflatable bouncing horses? It’s just about the coolest thing ever. We were in a toy store the other day, and Z climbed on to this cute/terrifying looking, orange, inflatable horse, and proceeded to bounce like I’ve not seen here bounce before. So, we came home with 2. One for her, and one for her best bud’s birthday. The lady at the toy store said they can barely keep them in stock. Oh how I wish there was an adult sized Rodie.
Nikon or Canon? You really have to ask a second question to get the answer to the first question. The second question is “what do you own now?” 9 out of 10 photographers will say their favorite brand JUST HAPPENS to be the brand they currently shoot with. Why? Money. If you’re shooting Nikon now, you’ve got Nikon lenses, extra Nikon batteries, all of the other accessories that are Nikon specific, and that stuff really adds up. So you just hunker down and declare that your favorite brand is the one in your bag, and you’re not going to change.
So, what do I shoot? Nikon. It’s the best….and it’s in my bag. I’ll admit to some Canon envy every now and then…. the grass is always greener, right? But when I really think about how much I have invested in all of the Nikon “stuff”, I just can’t bring myself to even seriously consider switching. Nikon makes awesome gear, so does Canon. And really, no one but photographers are paying attention to the saturation, and 30x magnification pixel comps. With a good camera, and a good lens, a good photographer can take great photos no matter if it’s Canon or Nikon.

More to come later…
My camera has spent a lot of time in the bag lately. However, my wife and I just returned from vacation in Maine, and the camera was rarely IN the bag. I’ve just started to browse through the shots I got, but here are just a couple that have caught my eye so far. This first one is the Portland Headlight.
Sunset in Bar Harbor.
